Wines of Wilhelmina's — Pinot Gris & Grigio

Each month, our very own Mikey Hamilton pours some of his favourite vino to showcase different varieties throughout the year. It's a great way to wrap up a Saturday afternoon in Balmain, kick off your evening at Wilhelmina's while learning a thing or two about the wines we love.

Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are the same grape variety, but made in two different wine styles. The variety is a white mutation of the Pinot Noir grape, which came from Burgundy, but the spiritual home of Pinot Gris is north-eastern France’s Alsace region, with Pinot Grigio’s being northern Italy. Plantings of Pinot Gris began in Australia in the 1980s but it wasn’t until 2000 that production increased to significant levels.

Price includes 5-6 wines and some snacks during the tasting.
